When you are trying to sand off your Popcorn ceilings, you need this super coarse sanding grit. I've removed over 500 popcorn ceilings and I've tried it all. 80 grit will do it, but it goes much slower and it will load up more often, tear more and cost you more time.
These also work for scuffing up painted textured walls before you skim coat them, or re-texture. This give the new texture something to bit onto and knocks down the high peaks making the new texture or skim coat go on much smoother. Finer grits will load up much quicker and render the sanding grit useless. These last much longer when sanding paint, although you need to apply light pressure and slightly slower speeds to help reduce the loading effect. They won't load up when sanding non painted surfaces.
I'm a pro and these as they are extremely tough. If you don't hit something to tear them and damage them, you can often get months of use out of one disc. This is for a pack of 2 discs.
